Outside the Realm of Current Literature
'We are outside the realm of current literature.' That's the most
recent quote from the doc.
Baby B is still determined to come out. She inches further and further
down the birth canal (as seen on the most recent bedside ultrasound).
Lauren is dilated enough for B to come out, more of B's bag is bulging
out, and the contractions are getting stronger. 'Soon' is the current
time estimate.
When Heidi came, Lauren wasn't having contractions so they are even
less confident this time that they can stop the remaining babies from
being delivered - but they will try.
They do believe that there is a small infection that is what is
causing this all; but until they see more proof they are letting
everything take it's course with minimal intervention.
So we wait.

I don't know how I happened upon your blog, but I did and I have been checking back. My heart is aching for your family. I just wanted to share an article with you:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11222-worlds-most-premature-baby-set-to-leave-hospital.html
There is only a single case of an infant born at 21 weeks 6 days and she still survives today. The mother lied to the doctor's about her age because she knew that if she told the truth, that she wasn't yet at the age of supposed viability, they wouldn't even try. I have heard that doctors don't even try to save infants if they are born before the age of viability, but this 1 case did happen, and all I can say is that I hope your doctors will at least try to save your babies if the worst case scenario happens and they end up being born.
My thoughts are with you all, I hope for the best!

Dont give up on those babies yet..if they have to be delivered, ask the docs to give lauren steroids for the babies lungs, and to intubate them upon delivery and send to NICU .
If they wont, please try again to get pregnant but, with only one baby though next time. It is too much stress on the human body to try to stuff many babies in one uterus. Please just try one baby next time.good luck

OMG - easy for mama2four to be insensitive - she already HAS four kids. Green family - I have been reading this blog daily - checking back for updates frequently and praying for you and your babies. I won't tell you things you already know about God's plan, you know that already. Just know that there are complete strangers praying for you to be parents, praying for Lauren's health and well-being and never stop believing in miracles... Bless you...
