Around 8pm the doc came back in after having a conference with several others from the high risk team. Due to a number of variables they strongly recommended to take Lauren off of the magnesium. We agreed. It obviously didn't stop the contractions like we were hoping for and just made Lauren feel horrible. The conversation was a lengthy one and in the end she was taken off of mag.
The last hour or so has been wonderfully calm. Shes still having contractions but the strong ones are pretty infrequent now. Is this just the calm before the storm? Who knows - only time will tell.
We again thank everyone who is praying and rooting for us during this time. Thank you thank you thank you!
On a side note:
I love the people who send comments and emails comments like, 'please next time dont have 4 babies'. Hah! No problem - we'll just send God an email and say, 'Hey Almighty ruler of all things. Some people down here didn't like how you made us pregnant with Quads. Apparently people down here think that the only way you can have Quads is by doing IVF or some other type of invasive fertility treatments. Can you not do that next time so these people can sleep better at night?' LOL. Don't worry 'anonymous commenters', we'll get right on that for ya ok? ;)

Actually loved the side note you made! You two have been real troopers and God knows what hard work you have put in to make it this far. I have prayed for you daily and that will not stop! Remember that God makes beauty from ashes. Maybe God will surprise us all with something amazing. I pray that is His will for you two and your blessed babies-(who just can't wait to meet their mother) You have my heart!

thanks so much for keeping us updated...i know i check all the time to see how things are going.
and wow, i am sort of laughing but not in a good way at the comments people have sent to you...sorry you have to read such stupid, stupid things.
praying for just a few more weeks so you can get to viability. but if you need someone to talk to about micro-preemies, i'm here.

As a positive commenter, I am praying for you and your babies. I am among those that realize that a lot of times HOM do not come from IVF but other methods. But it's always a gamble, whether you do it the old fashioned way or any other way, you never know what you're going to get.

So what if you had quads via alternative means. No matter what you and your wife were doing what you felt was right. If I were in your shoes, I would not have changed a thing. You both have the ability to go to sleep at night and be content with what the choices you have made. People become parents in many different ways. Some people have children and are never capable of becoming parents.

that's why I block anonymous idiots..... because they are some of the meanest people ever, that seem to thrive on the heartache of others.

Josh and Lauren - I don't know you, but God does. He is the Mighty Creater of the Universe. He knew your precious childen when they were in your womb. Only He knows the whys and wherefores of it all.
In reading this particular blog, I was reminded of our adopted child. We had tried for many, many months to get pregnant. Could not.....adopted a child in February and I got pregnant in March! Really, these things do happen...back to the real story.
Everyone who has carried a child, or even loved one on a very deep level knows how sensitive a woman can be about their children. I would hope and pray that the person who made this comment to me did not actually mean to do harm, but the comment was:
"NOW THAT YOU CAN HAVE YOUR OWN CHILDREN, ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE YOUR ADOPTED SON BACK?" My Good God, he is our CHILD......
Why I am writing this to you at this time I do not know, but I know that God is a very real God, a very present God, and he is with both of you every minute and second of the day and night. He has great plans for your family-just trust in Him....You both are so strong.
There is a sign that says:
"TELL THE CHILDREN THAT I LOVE THEM - GOD"...that means ALL children, adopted, biological, foster children and every child in this world. Your precious little ones are with our Father and He delights in them. You will be fine. The hurt will linger, but you will be fine.
